Finish Chelsea's Run

Little Tommy of KyXy 96.5 hosted Finish Chelsea's Run on Saturday, March 1, from 7a-noon at Balboa Park.  Despite downpours through the early morning, the sun was shining bright when the runners and walkers hit the pavement on 6th Avenue.  Participants taking the course at a slower pace were sprinkled with some rain, but it didn't stop them from Finishing Chelsea's Run.  This year's event included the involvement of San Diego Girl Scouts and many troops like the girls from 3602 and 3061, seen in the photos, joined the fundraiser making it the biggest crowd to date.

1090Cleandrawers.jpg
The Mighty 1090 hosted the 4th Annual Clean Your Drawers Holiday Clothing Drive Friday morning, December 20th, 2013 from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Sports fans from all over San Diego were invited to bring their new or gently used clothing donations to the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery Mission Valley benefiting San Diego Alpha Project.

All clothing donations will go to Alpha Project, which attempts to develop relationships with the homeless; offering them food, water, clothing, hygiene supplies, transportation assistance as well as a compassionate ear. Alpha Project CEO Bob McElroy joined Hacksaw & Company LIVE on air at 8:45am to talk about the needs of San Diego's homeless during the cold months of the year.

Bud Light graciously donated a delivery truck to house the donations for the clothing drive and deliver them to Alpha Project, downtown. Vice President of Marketing for Bud Light San Diego James Dierker will deliver the truck and the clothes on behalf of Anheuser-Busch.

"Clean Your Drawers started four years ago as a sock drive with Scott & BR. The response from generous San Diegans was overwhelming. To see it develop into an annual community event to help San Diego's homeless during the holidays is a feat that we are proud of at The Mighty 1090," says Broadcast Company of the Americas General Manager Norman Feuer.

Geena_AllStars.jpg
Geena the Latina of Channel 933
and San Diego Charger Shareece Wright co-hosted an event on Saturday, November 9, for the After School All-Star Program in National City.  The program is aimed at kids in underserved communities and encourages them to stay out of trouble by staying active in sports and studies.

South Bay Volkswagen made the event possible by donating jerseys, soccer balls, and water bottles to the 300 kids in the program.

The kids had a pep rally before their games where Shereece and Geena talked to them about the importance of education and athletics. They delivered all the soccer balls in two V-Dubs from South Bay Volkswagen. The kids were excited and grateful.  Last year, they didn't even have uniforms.

Today we call it Data but we used to call it Statistics. Statistics are boring. That's why a clever boy in Silicon Valley gave them a new and better name. A scientist is willing to change a belief when presented with data, facts and logic.
Leveraging Nielsen’s local television and audio panels, Nielsen and CBS collaborated to demonstrate the additive power of combining media buys for major ad campaigns.
Increases occurred across all sectors including spot, digital, network and off-air revenue.
Brands averaged a sales lift of more than $6 for every $1 spent on radio ads - an ROI double that of even the best results from many recent studies of digital or TV media.
Study finds that only 40 percent of web ads are viewable, meaning that at least half of the ad was in view for more than a second. The rest were out of the view of the user visiting that page.

This perception is supremely evident when a businessperson looks at an ad professional and says, "My only problem is traffic. If I had more traffic I'd sell more customers. Traffic is your department. Bring me customers. Now." What makes good ads fail?
The length of the "ramping up period" an ad campaign will require before you begin to see results is determined by the following factors, listed in descending order of their importance: 1. Product Purchase Cycle 2. Share of Voice 3. Impact Quotient of message 4. Media delivery vehicle...
